IFRS 9 & 16 practical class to reduce your compliance costs

On 19th February 2019, the Central Bank of Uganda issued an Instruction Circular ‘EDS.306.2’ to Supervised Financial Institutions (SFIs). Through the Executive Director supervision, Bank of Uganda sent the guidance note on implementation aspects of IFRS 9 to Chief Executives of Commercial Banks, Credit Institutions and Microfinance Deposit Taking Institutions.

The Instruction Circular requires the Board of Directors of SFIs to put in place adequate and robust policies and procedures, information technology systems, internal control processes and devote sufficient financial resources for IFRS 9 implementation. Financial institutions like yours, are also required to put up IFRS 9 Project Steering Committee, Human Resource, IFRS 9 model validation and key inputs to the Expected Credit Loss model. We would like to reduce your compliance costs.
